There’s so many sales offers and ideas out there that it can be confusing. So let’s simplify the process with the top 5 things Mom wants.
- Something thoughtful – kids art and creations, breakfast in bed, a clean house, home-cooked dinner, hand-made cards and notes especially.
- Something fun – a game, an outing, a movie or a concert.
- Something useful – tools to simplify her life and make it easier at home, at work, for fun or a hobby.
- Something tasty – her favorite “indulgence”- chocolates, cookies, steak or shrimp, coffee or wine and/or, or, or…
- Something pretty – a blouse, jewelry, a scarf, décor, flowers, anything lovely (although this can be a bit tough to do because Mom likes to shop and pick these things out herself.)
Some of these gifts will continue giving for years to come as she recalls them with a smile, or uses them day after day with zeal.
And of course, gifts that include a number of these qualities will bring even more delight. For example, a tool she can use every day is also very thoughtful and could even be pretty, like a colorful set of lids , a ceramic vase or new mixer. A hand-made gift can be memorable, pretty, and fun. An outing with the family can be fun, thoughtful and include tasty treats!
Just play with it, and remember, what Mom wants most of all is love and appreciation for all she does, including those thankless tasks (like cleaning out the toilet bowl, vacuuming or waking you up in time!)
Moms love… that’s who we are. So simply do something loving and memorable to make it her perfect day.
