Plastic wrap is one of my Top 10 pet peeves, but I’m pretty certain it’s a universal complaint. How many of these have you fought with?
- It steals time. Too frequently it catches before you even start. The front edge hangs up inside the box – you need to find it again. Or worse, the side edge has been slowly tearing away for a bit and now has a thick wedge leftover that must be dug away to get a full sheet. Either way, you have to stop and futz and dig away (likely expressing expletives along the way!).
- It steals energy. Half the time you end up struggling against a sheet that tries to cling to itself or anything other than that container, or falls just short of covering the edge. It’s annoying, to put it mildly!
- It’s not reusable. Even lifting to stir while microwaving can ruin the seal. You need fresh wrap for the leftovers, and even then, you hope the “kids” won’t dig in and leave them unwittingly half wrapped once more because it doesn’t reseal easily either. (Besides, if I have trouble with it, you can imagine what the kids and Grandpa go through!)
- It melts and shrinks. How many times have you reheated leftovers, to find the wrap has split open or worse melted. Like when the chili beans decide to pop through the top. What a mess!
- It has limited uses. That means I also need pot lids for the stove and foil for the oven.
There’s got to be a better way to cook, seal, and store our food! Plastic wrap may have been great for Grandma, but this is the 21st century! It’s time to move forward.
That’s why I love these new Silicone Lids.
- They’re quick and easy to use (and just as easy to clean). Even the kids and grandparents can readily set and press for a perfect suction seal.
- They’re multi-purpose. So they work in the oven, the microwave, frig, freezer, and on the stove top.
- They save space for storage because they are interlocking. So less clutter in the kitchen.
- They can be used indoors or out, so they’re perfect for everyday, dinner guests, picnics and barbecues.
- They’re reusable! I have less waste in the kitchen. That saves me money and puts less drain on the environment.
- They’re food safe and BPA free which makes me very happy.
And they’re actually pretty. What more could you ask for? A Perfect and Simple Solution for plastic wrap FINALLY!
